Wakiso, Uganda — June 11, 2025
Exodus College School in Wakiso will host a landmark event on June 11, 2025, as it welcomes a distinguished guest, the Prime Minister (Katikkiro) of the Buganda Kingdom, Owekitiibwa Charles Peter Mayiga. The visit, themed “Omusomo ku Butonde Bw’ensi” (A Lesson on the Environment), is part of a growing effort by the Buganda Kingdom to champion environmental conservation across the region.
This engagement aligns with the Katikkiro’s long-standing advocacy for environmental sustainability and tree planting, a campaign he has led passionately under the broader agenda of protecting natural heritage and promoting ecological consciousness within the Buganda Kingdom. The initiative has seen schools, communities, and institutions across Buganda taking active roles in greening their environments and fostering eco-friendly practices among the youth.
During his visit to Exodus College School, the Katikkiro will deliver a keynote address aimed at educating and inspiring students on the importance of environmental stewardship. He is expected to highlight the critical role young people play in climate action and reaffirm the Kingdom’s commitment to building a greener, more sustainable Uganda.
The school administration has expressed deep honor in hosting the Katikkiro and sees the occasion as a significant opportunity for students to learn directly from a national leader who embodies values of leadership, cultural heritage, and environmental responsibility.

Exodus College School, a mixed day and boarding O & A level institution, has continually emphasized discipline and determination as core values in its education philosophy. The visit by Owekitiibwa Charles Peter Mayiga will not only deepen the school’s engagement in environmental matters but also inspire a generation of learners to take tangible actions for the future of their planet.
As the Buganda Kingdom continues to advocate for the planting of trees and sustainable land use, this visit is a testament to the power of education in transforming society and the vital role schools play in shaping environmentally conscious citizens.
